St Anne's Special School visits IT@Spectrum
12 June 2018
We have a history of helping the education sector in our local area. From hosting visits to our offices, conducting presentations in schools, helping with their print and information management, and even giving students the opportunity for work experience. One of the most recent examples of this was the yesterday’s visit from the amazing students at St Anne’s Special School.
St Anne’s special school is dedicated to helping children that are handicapped to learn and achieve their full potential. They offer a wide range of subjects to the students and cater for children from Nursery, all the way to sixth form. St Anne’s are always offering events and trips for their students, and most recently this has included a prom that we had volunteered to help with.
As you can see from previous blog posts, the students of St Anne’s Special School are no strangers to the IT@Spectrum offices. They often come in for school days and to gain work experience and have helped by serving refreshments to our event attendees. So what better way to say thank you than inviting the students into The View to help print their prom tickets and posters!
The students started off their day by learning all about the products that we supply and how these would help them to be able to print off their prom tickets and posters. They learnt all about our uniFLOW software which allows us to see who is printing what and how their print is kept secure. They also brought in their own poster and ticket designs, which were used to learn how to scan the designs into the system and resize to be printed. The designs were then printed into a series of A0 sized advertising posters and glossy tickets for their prom.
The students loved seeing their creations coming to life and were pleased to have a physical copy that they had created from start to finish. We love the visits we have from St Anne’s Special School and can’t wait to see them again soon!
